UK FlagUK/London: Old Cheese Room, a Wiltshire, England establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Baronet, Baby Baronet and Mini Baronet Soft Cheese from the British marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Dairy Products are subject to recall:

  • Baronet Soft Cheese, sold in one (1) kilogram packages with a best-before date of 21 March 2023, 11 April 2023 or 18 April 2023
  • Baby Baronet Soft Cheese, sold in 200 gram packages with a best-before date of 16 April 2023
  • Baby Baronet Soft Cheese, sold in 270 gram packages with a best-before date of 18 April 2023

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Old Cheese Room has recalled certain batch/lots of Baronet, Baby Baronet and Mini Baronet Soft Cheese products from the British marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Dairy products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Old Cheese Room Baronet, Baby Baronet and Mini Baronet Soft Cheese products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Dairy Products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings as Listeriosis.
