SARS-CoV-2 (“Coronavirus” / “COVID-19”) Update

Logo - Living SafelyA message from the Managing Director of Recalls Direct, a global health initiative of Living Safely:

Our regional health teams, in-house clinicians and medical advisors recognize this is a difficult time for people dealing with the global SARS-CoV-2 (“Coronavirus” / “COVID-19”) pandemic. We further recognize this is a very serious, emerging and rapidly evolving situation requiring global agency cooperation.

Due to the enormous constraints placed upon various government health provisioning and regulatory agencies at this time, however, the reporting of certain serious food, product, drug and vehicle recalls have been curtailed or eliminated. In turn, this reduces the level of reporting that we can provide to you and the thousands of other people who visit us and companies and organizations who consult our site every day.

We note this is the second serious interruption of recall information we’ve experienced over the last few years, with the first one being the 35-day long stoppage of recall information from December 22, 2018 until January 25, 2019 under the administration of Donald Trump. This stoppage affected only US-based recall information.

During this time, we will continue to report on various recalls as best we can under the circumstances and remind everyone that “food is medicine”. One of the best ways of staying healthy is to eat nutritionally, reduce your consumption of junk food, soda and other high-carb/high-fat/high-salt foods and concentrate on healthy meals. Pay special attention to washing fruits and vegetables well before eating, cook “protein foods” such as meat, fish and poultry thoroughly and avoid unpasteurized dairy product and “soft” cheeses at all times.
