Additional information:
Transport Canada (“TC”) reports the following Trucks are subject to this recall:

  • Volvo VAH vehicles; model years: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
  • Volvo VHD vehicles; model years: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014

  • Volvo VT vehicles; model years: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014

According to Transport Canada, on some Volvo vehicles, the secondary clutch disengagement switch may have been omitted during vehicle assembly or, in some instances, removed during servicing. As such, primary switch failure would cause the automated manual transmission’s clutch to remain engaged when the brakes are applied. This could increase stopping distances, possibly resulting in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury.
