Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: City Beach, a Brisbane, Queensland establishment, recalls a reported six (6) different Crocs Jibbitz Novelty products containing Button Batteries from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s Mandatory Standard for Button Batteries with consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Novelty products are subject to this recall (in alphabetical order):

  • Crocs LED FUN Jibbitz 5 Pack
  • Crocs Lights Up Under the Sea Jibbitz five-pack
  • Crocs Lights Up Cacti JIbbitz five- pack
  • Crocs Lights up Cactus Purple Flower Jibbitz
  • Crocs Lights Up Sun Jibbitz
  • Crocs Lights Up Electric Blue Daisy Jibbitz

==> No barcodes, APNs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Crocs Jibbitz Novelty products containing Button Batteries were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these Novelty products had wider distribution outside the country including over the Web. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, City Beach has recalled an estimated six (6) different Crocs Jibbitz Novelty products containing Button Batteries from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s Mandatory Standard for Button Batteries and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should not use the products identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Crocs Jibbitz Novelty products containing Button Batteries sold at City Beach, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the products to the store where you purchased it them for a refund.

Button Batteries pose serious risks choking, severe internal burn injuries or death to young children if they gain access to the button/coin batteries and swallow them or place them inside their body. Severe or death can happen in two (2) hours or less.
