US/Washington: Spectrum Brands, Inc., a Middleton, Wisconsin establishment and owner of Empower Brands, LLC, expands its existing recall for an estimated 518,500 Black+Decker branded Easy Garment Steamers from the American marketplace to include an estimated 1.6 million additional Steamers.
The original recall was initiated due to suspected structural failure and resultant sudden expelling of boiling water and/or steam with consequential risks of burns, scalds, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure, and/or cardiac system collapse, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.
