Canada/Ottawa: Ottogi brand Jin Ramen Noodle Recall [Canada]The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”), an Ottawa, Ontario food safety authority, recalls certain batch/lots of Ottogi branded Jin Ramen Spicy and Jin Ramen Mild Noodle products due to undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports it has recalled certain batch/lots of Ottogi branded Jin Ramen Spicy Noodle products because they contain Egg as well as certain batch/lots of Ottogi brand Jin Ramen Mild Noodles because they may contain Egg, an ingredient not declared on the label. People with an allergy to Egg should not consume the recalled the following products:

  • Ottogi branded Jin Ramen Mild Noodles, sold in 600 gram packages consisting of five (5) individual packets of 120 grams each with a best-before date code of AUG.19.2019 with an outer package UPC of 6 45175 52014 6 and an inner package UPC of 6 45175 52011 5
  • Ottogi branded Jin Ramen Spicy, sold in 600 gram packages consisting of five (5) individual packets of 120 grams each with a best-before date code of AUG.20.2019 with an outer package UPC of 6 45175 52015 3 and an inner package UPC of 6 45175 52012 2

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, it has recalled the above indicated Ottogi branded Jin Ramen Noodles from the Canadian marketplace due to the presence of Egg, an ingredient not declared on the label. People with an allergy to Egg should not consume the recalled products identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Ramen Noodle products and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
