Canada/Ottawa: Greenbelt Microgreens Vegetable Recall [Canada]Greenbelt Greenhouse Ltd., a Lynden, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Greenbelt Microgreens brand Microgreen Vegetable products due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Microgreen Vegetable products are subject to this recall:

  • Greenbelt Microgreens branded Broccoli Microgreen Vegetable products, sold in 75 gram clear cello bags, a best-before date of 09/23/18 and a UPC of 8 90082 00016 2
  • Greenbelt Microgreens branded Radish Microgreen Vegetable products, sold in 75 gram clear cello bags, a best-before date of 09/23/18 and a UPC of 8 90082 00069 8
  • Greenbelt Microgreens branded Spicy Micro & Lettuce Mix Vegetable products, sold in 100 gram clear cello bags, a best-before date of 09/23/18 and a UPC of 8 90082 00046 9

According to the CFIA, Greenbelt Greenhouse has recalled certain batch/lots of Greenbelt Microgreens brand Microgreen Vegetable products due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the Vegetable Salad products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Microgreen Vegetable products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
