Logo - Transport CanadaEstimated reading time: seven (7) minutes.

Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls an estimated 6,745 model year 2022, 2023 and 2024 KIA EV6 Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On certain KIA SUVs, the Integrated Charging Control Unit (“ICCU”) could become damaged over time. As a result, the 12 Volt Battery will not charge and could cause the vehicle to enter a Reduced Power Mode. If this happens and the driver continues to use the vehicle, there could be a loss of power to the Wheels.

Logo - Toyota CanadaTransport Canada reports this problem will cause a Warning Light to turn on and Warning Messages to display before any loss of power.

A loss of power to the Wheels could increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential risks of serious injury and/or life-changing results..
