Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Dimmeys, a Footscray, Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Revell Reading Glasses with LED Lights from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s Mandatory Standard for Button Batteries with consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Reading Glasses are subject to this recall:

  • Revell Reading Glasses with LED Lights

==> No barcodes, APNs, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Revell Reading Glasses were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Australian states of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria, although it is always possible these Eye Ware products had wider distribution within the country including over the Web. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, Dimmeys has recalled certain batch/lots of Revell Reading Glasses from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s Mandatory Standard for Button Batteries and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should not use the Reading Glasses identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Revell Reading Glasses sold at Dimmeys, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the products to the store where you purchased it them for a refund.
