Among the thirty-two (32) recalls the NHTSA has announced in January 2021, comes news of the following:

Logo - Auxbeam Headlight BulbsGuangzhou Zhilan E-Commerce Co., Ltd (“Guangzhou”), a Baiyun, Guangzhou establishment, has recalled an estimated 25,059 aftermarket Auxbeam Headlight Bulbs in configurations 9004, 9005, 9006, 9007 and 9012, sold under part numbers 70025550, 70024368, 70024210, 70024211, 88623538, 88623534, 88623537, 88623535 and 88623539 marketed, sold and delivered in the United States by Amazon.com.

Recall Category: Exterior Lighting – Headlight Bulbs may be too bright in apparent contravention of US FMVSS 108

NHTSA Safety Notification 21E004000 reports the recalled Headlight Bulbs may create excessive glare or brightness to oncoming drivers. As such, these Bulbs fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment”.

According to the NHTSA, excessive glare and/or brightness to oncoming drivers can increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns, explosive impact injuries and/or smoke inhalation and/or respiratory injury.

Please note that under 49 United States Code § 30112(a), it is illegal for anyone, including a manufacturer, distributor, dealer or retailer to sell an item of equipment or vehicle that fails to comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards.

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Coronavirus Tips___________________________________________________________

Guangzhou will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the LED bulbs with Halogen Headlamp Bulbs, free of charge. To qualify for such replacement, an owner must fill out a recall request form and provide proof of purchase and agree to return the recalled Bulb(s). The recall is expected to begin February 1, 2021.

Owners may contact Auxbeam Customer Service at 1-925-276-0607 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) or by e-mail at Recall@auxbeam.com. No manufacturer’s designation was listed for this recall at press time.
