UK FlagUK/London: Food for Progress Scandinavia AB, a Mjölby, Sweden establishment recalls Oumph! branded “The Chunk” Spice Mix from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Mustard, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Spice Mix products are subject to recall:

  • Oumph! “The Chunk” Spice Mix, sold in 280 gram packages with a batch/lot code of 180919 and a best-before date of 18 March 2021

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the FSA, Oumph! has recalls “The Chunk” Spice Mix due to a packaging error. Some packets may contain a different Oumph! product containing Mustard, an ingredient not mentioned on the product label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to Mustard. The product is sold in ASDA, Holland & Barrett and Tesco stores only.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Spice Mix and could be allergic to their Mustard ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
