The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Salads are subject to this recall:

• Whole Foods Market Our Chefs Own brand Spinach Orzo Salad, sold with a PLU of 61159 and sold on February 24 or before.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Salads’ packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No barcodes, UPCs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, Whole Foods Market has recalled certain batch/lots of Our Chefs’ Own brand Spinach Orzo Salads sold in stores in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island due to an undeclared tree nut allergen, specifically Pine Nuts.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Spinach Orzo Salads and could be allergic to their Pine Nut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
