The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to this recall:

  • Lonestar Bakeries Cream Cheese King Cakes, sold between February 4 and February 26, 2017

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled King Cakes can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the King Cakes sold in purple cardboard containers and labeled as Lonestar Bakeries Cream Cheese King Cakes may have contained pecans, an ingredient not declared on the ingredient list.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Baked Goods and could be allergic to their Pecan Nut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
