Vehicle Recall: Alfa Romeo Tonale & Dodge Hornet SUVs

Canada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls an estimated 4,256 model year 2023 and 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale and Dodge Hornet Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On certain Alfa Romeo and Dodge vehicles, the Compliance Label doesn’t list the vehicle’s Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (“GVWR”), the Tire size or the Rim size. This defect could lead to overloading of the vehicle. Additionally, when the Rims and Tires are replaced, the wrong Rims and/or Tires could be installed. Both issues could cause poor in-use handling or a tire failure.

Transport Canada reports that poor handling or a Tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash and increasing the consequential risk of serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

==> No VINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Proposed Remedy:
FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to an Authorized Dealership to install a corrected Compliance Label.
