Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety safety authority, recalls certain 2007 to 2009 model year Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in Canada due to possible Engine oil leakage from the Valve Cover onto the Alternator. If this defect occurs, the vehicle’s Charging System could stop working and cause a warning light to turn on. If you continue to drive the vehicle with this problem, the Engine could shut off while driving, and you may not be able to restart it.

A sudden loss of Engine power could increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results. This is particularly dangerous if this defect occurs on a highway.

Note: This recall replaces C0260 (Transport Canada recall 2016-309). Vehicles that were repaired under that earlier recall also require this repair.
