US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Tiffany Food Corp. a Brooklyn, New York recalls certain batch/lots of Huangfushanzen Huang Mountain Tea Mushroom (黄府山珍茶花菇) Dried Mushroom products from the American marketplace due to undeclared Sulfites, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Dried Mushroom products are subject to this recall:

  • Huangfushanzen Huang Mountain Tea Mushroom (黄府山珍茶花菇) Dried Mushrooms, sold packaged in 170 gram (6 ounce) clear, green, gold, and red plastic bags with a UPC 6 943153 804047 and distributed in CA, FL, MA, OH through grocery stores and food markets.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Dried Mushroom products can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the recall was initiated after routine sampling by Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (“FDACS”) and subsequent analysis revealed the presence of Sulfites in Huangfushanzen Huang Mountain Tea Mushroom (黄府山珍茶花菇) Dried Mushrooms.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Dried Mushroom products and could be allergic to their Sulfite ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
