Among the sixty-two (62) recalls the NHTSA announced in April comes news of the following notification:

Logo - Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLCJaguar Land Rover North America, LLC, a Mahwah, New Jersey establishment and a subsidiary of Tata Motors of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, has recalled an estimated 2,409 model year2021-2023 Jaguar E-Pace Sport Utility Vehicles (“SUVs”) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Air Bags – Passenger Air Bag may tear

NHTSA Safety Notification 24V278000 reports the Passenger Air Bag may tear during deployment.

According to the NHTSA, a torn Air Bag may not adequately protect an occupant in the event of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event increasing the risks of consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

In addition, a torn Air Bag may allow the escape of hot gases upon deployment. If this defect occurs, it can increase the risk of a fire, burns and/or smoke inhalation with consequential life-changing or life-ending results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries and/or burns, explosive blast injury, smoke inhalation and/or respiratory and/or cardiac injury.

Authorized Jaguar Dealers will replace the Passenger Air Bag Module, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 14, 2024.

Owners may contact Jaguar Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-452-4827 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) for more information. Jaguar’s designation for this recall is H491.
