Logo - Transport CanadaEstimated reading time: seven (7) minutes.

Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls an estimated 11,619 model year 2023 and 2024 Ford Transit Vans marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On certain Ford vans, the Rear Axle was not properly filled with oil. As a result, the Tail Bearings could seize, and the Pinion Stem could break. This could also cause the vehicle to move when the Transmission is in PARK, if the Parking Brake is not used.

Logo - Ford Motor CompanyTransport Canada reports an in-use loss of power to the Wheels could increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact event with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results. In addition, a parked vehicle that moves suddenly and becomes a roll away risk could also increase the risk of a crash and injury.

Please note: this recall only affects selected Ford Transit Vans equipped with a 9.75″ Rear Axle and a Gasoline Engine at this time.
