US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Fresh Creative Foods, a division of Reser’s Fine Foods, Inc., a Beaverton, Oregon establishment, recalls all current batch/lots of Chicken Street Taco Kits sold in Save Mart, Lucky and Lucky California stores from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Taco Kits are subject to this recall:

  • Chicken Street Taco Kits, sold in 17-ounce black plastic trays covered by a clear plastic top with a UPC beginning with “278230” known to have been assembled and packaged by in-store delis at Save Mart, Lucky and Lucky California stores.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled prepared Taco Kits can be found on the Web site above.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Save Mart, Lucky, Lucky California Chicken Street Taco Kits were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of California and Nevada, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - US Food and Drug Administration ("FDA")According to the FDA, Fresh Creative Foods, a division of Reser’s Fine Foods, Inc. has recalled certain batch/lots of Chicken Street Taco Kits sold by Save Mart, Lucky and Lucky California from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled prepared Taco Kits identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after Rizo-López Cheeses Foods, Inc. recalled certain batch/lots of Cotija Cheese due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Fresh Creative Foods used the recalled Cotija Cheese as an ingredient in the included Crema Sauce for its Chicken Street Taco Kits sold by Save Mart, Lucky and Lucky California.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chicken Street Taco Kits sold by Save Mart, Lucky and Lucky California, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the prepared Sauces and Dressings to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
