US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Herold’s Salads, a Cleveland, Ohio establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of numerous Assorted Deli Salads from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Deli Salad products are subject to this recall:

  • Amish Macaroni Salads, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/6/2023 to 1/18/2024
  • Amish Potato Salads, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/6/2023 to 1/18/2024
  • Amish Wedding Amish Macaroni, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/8/2023 to 1/19/2024
  • Amish Wedding Amish Potato, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/13/2023 to 1/24/2024
  • Black Bean and Corn Salsa, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/6/2023 to 1/4/2024
  • Cleveland’s Own Macaroni Salads, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/9/2023 to 1/14/2024
  • Cleveland’s Own Potato Salads, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/9/2023 to 1/14/2024
  • Cleveland’s Own Shell Macaroni Salads, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/16/2023 to 1/14/2024

  • Pasta Potpourri, sold with an expiration date within the range of 11/25/2023 to 1/5/2024
  • Poppyseed Pasta, sold with an expiration date within the range of 11/23/2023 to 1/6/2024
  • Rainbow Rotini Pasta Salads, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/4/2023 to 1/14/2024
  • Rotini Garden Medley, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/5/2023 to 1/14/2024
  • Santa Fe Pasta Salads, sold with an expiration date within the range of 11/25/2023 to 1/5/2024
  • Sour Cream and Cheddar Mac, sold with an expiration date within the range of 11/24/2023 to 12/28/2023
  • Southern Macaroni Salads, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/4/2023 to 1/15/2024
  • Southern Potato Salads with Egg, sold with an expiration date within the range of 12/13/2023 to 1/17/2024

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates,regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Deli Salad products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US state of Ohio, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - US Food and Drug Administration ("FDA")According to the FDA, Herold’s Salads has recalled certain batch/lots of numerous Assorted Deli Salads from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Salad products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Assorted Deli Salads, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Sprouts to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
