US FlagUS/Washington: House of Raeford, a Nesmith, South Carolina establishment, recalls an estimated 76,961 pounds of Foster Farms Mini branded Corn Dog Bite-Sized Chicken Franks dipped in Batter Honey Crunchy Flavor due to suspected spoilage and consequential risks of bacterial contamination, illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Frozen Chicken Products were produced on or about April 24, 2023 and are subject to this recall:

  • Foster Farms branded Mini Corn Dog Bite-Sized Chicken Franks dipped in Batter Honey Crunchy Flavor, sold in 1.83-pound resealable bags with a batch/lot code of 123114 or 223114 and best-if-used-by date of 4/23/24 (i.e., April 23, 2024)

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Foster Farms branded Mini Corn Dog Bite-Sized Chicken Franks dipped in Batter Honey Crunchy Flavor were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all US states, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - United States Department of Agriculture ("USDA") According to the USDA, House of Raeford has recalled an estimated 76,961 pounds of Foster Farms branded Mini Corn Dog Bite-Sized Chicken Franks dipped in Batter Honey Crunchy Flavor due to suspected spoilage and consequential risks of spoilage, bacterial infection, illness and/or possible life-changing complications. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Frozen Chicken identified above.

In this case, the recall was initiated after Foster Farms notified FSIS that it had received consumer complaints that the product had an odor, off appearance and unpleasant taste, indicating possible spoilage.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Foster Farms Mini Corn Dog Bite-Sized Chicken Franks, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction and/or sepsis.
