UK FlagUK/London: Franco Ices Limited, a Kempston, Bedfordshire establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Mr Bubble Ice Lolly – Bubble Gum Flavour products from the British marketplace due to suspected metal fragment contamination and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Ice Lolly products are subject to recall:

  • Mr Bubble Ice Lollies – Bubble Gum Flavour, a processed food products marketed, sold and delivered in 70 ml portions with a batch/lot of 03193 and a best-before end date of October 2023

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Ice Lolly products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FSA, Franco Ices Limited has recalled certain batch/lots of Mr Bubble Ice Lolly products Bubble Gum Flavour from the British marketplace due to suspected metal fragment contamination. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Mr Bubble Ice Lollies identified above.

In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Mr Bubble Ice Lollies, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Ice Lollies to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration.
