UK FlagUK/London: Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd (“Sainsbury’s”) a London, England establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of By Sainsbury’s Cooked Frozen Mussels from the British marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following frozen Seafood products are subject to recall:

  • By Sainsbury’s Cooked Mussels (frozen), sold in 300 gram packages, with a batch/lot code of 2653152 and a best-before date code of 08 September 2021

==> No barcodes, EANs, NDCs, DINs, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Sainsbury’s has recalled certain batch/lots of By Sainsbury’s Cooked Mussels from the British marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Seafood products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled By Sainsbury’s Cooked Frozen Mussels, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Frozen Mussels to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonellosis.
