Canada/Ottawa: Érablière Godbout, a Saint-Raphaël, Québec establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Érablière Godbout branded Sauce Spaghetti products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Clostridium botulinum contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Spaghetti Sauce products are subject to this recall:

  • Érablière Godbout Sauce Spaghetti, sold in 500 mL Mason-type jars; affected batch/lots: all units where the label does not mention the phrase, “Keep Refrigerated”
  • Érablière Godbout Sauce Spaghetti, sold in 1 L Mason-type jars; affected batch/lots: all units where the label does not mention the phrase, “Keep Refrigerated”

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Spaghetti Sauce products can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Érablière Godbout has recalled certain batch/lots of Érablière Godbout branded “Sauce Spaghetti” from the Canadian marketplace because it may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Sauces identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Érablière Godbout Sauce Spaghetti, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
