Oldway Farm Salami & Sausage Recall [Australia]

Australia/Canberra: Oldway Farm Pty Ltd, a Glengarry, Tasmania establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Mild Salami, Spicy Salami, Beef Cabana, Beer Sticks, Beef Cheese Kransky and Spicy Beef Chorizo Sausage products due to undeclared Gluten and Wheat, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Salami and Sausage products are subject to this recall:

• Mild Salami Meat, sold in 1 chunk Cryvac packages, a batch/lot of 141119 or 241019 and with best-before date codes of 5 Dec19 or 26 Dec 2019
• Spicy Salami Meat, sold in 1 chunk Cryvac packages, a batch/lot of 141119 or 241019 and with best-before date codes of 5 Dec19 or 26 Dec 2019
• Beef Cabana Meat, sold in 3 stick Cryvac packages, a batch/lot of 141119 or 241019 and with best-before date codes of 5 Dec19 or 26 Dec 2019
• Beer Sticks Meat, sold in 4 small stick Cryvac packages, a batch/lot of 141119 or 241019 and with best-before date codes of 5 Dec19 or 26 Dec 2019
• Beef Cheese Krensky Meat, sold in 2, 3 and 4 sausage Cryvac packages, a batch/lot of 141119 or 241019 and with best-before date codes of 5 Dec19 or 26 Dec 2019
• Spicy Beef Chorizo Meat, sold in 2, 3 and 4 sausage Cryvac packages, a batch/lot of 141119 or 241019 and with best-before date codes of 5 Dec19 or 26 Dec 2019

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the presence of undeclared Gluten and Wheat.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Mild Salami, Spicy Salami, Beef Cabana, Beer Sticks, Beef Cheese Kransky or Spicy Beef Chorizo Sausage products and could be allergic to their Gluten and/or Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
