Food Recall: Albertson’s, Costco, H-E-B, Trader Joe’s Sauces

US/Silver Spring: Fresh Creative Foods, a division of Reser’s Fine Foods, Inc., a Beaverton, Oregon establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Albertson’s, Costco, H-E-B and Trader Joe’s branded Cremas, Everything Sauces, Cilantro Cotija Dressings, Poblano Caesar Dressings, Cilantro Dressings from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Sauces and Dressings are subject to this recall:

• Don Pancho Chicken Street Taco Express Meal Kits
• Don Pancho Cilantro Lime Crema, Twin Packs
• Don Pancho Everything Sauce Fiesta, 3-Packs
• H-E-B Cilantro Cotija Dressing
• H-E-B Poblano Caesar Dressing
• Trader Joe’s Cilantro Dressing

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Albertson’s, Costco, H-E-B and Trader Joe’s branded Cremas, Everything Sauces, Cilantro Cotija Dressings, Poblano Caesar Dressings and Cilantro Dressings were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of CA, CT, FL, ID, IL, MD, MT, NJ, NV, OR, PA, SD, TX, UT, VA, and WA, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, Fresh Creative Foods, a division of Reser’s Fine Foods, Inc. has recalled certain batch/lots of Albertson’s, Costco, H-E-B and Trader Joe’s branded Cremas, Everything Sauces, Cilantro Cotija Dressings, Poblano Caesar Dressings and Cilantro Dressings from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination . As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled prepared Sauces and Dressings identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after Rizo-López Cheeses Foods, Inc. recalled certain batch/lots of Cotija Cheese due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Fresh Creative Foods used the recalled Cotija Cheese as a primary ingredient in its Albertson’s, Costco, H-E-B and Trader Joe’s branded Cremas, Everything Sauces, Cilantro Cotija Dressings, Poblano Caesar Dressings, Cilantro Dressings with the date codes listed above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Albertson’s, Costco, H-E-B and Trader Joe’s branded Cremas, Everything Sauces, Cilantro Cotija Dressings, Poblano Caesar Dressings or Cilantro Dressings, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the prepared Sauces and Dressings to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
