Product Recall: Tetris Tetrimino Waffle Makers

Australia/Canberra: William Valentine, a Grange, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Tetris Tetrimino Waffle Makers from the Australian marketplace due to reported failure to comply with Australia’s relevant electrical standard and consequential risks of burns, electric shock, electrocution, respiratory failure and cardiac system collapse, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Kitchen Appliances are subject to this recall:

• Tetris Tetrimino Electric Waffle Makers, counter-top kitchen appliances for making Tetris block shaped breakfast waffles and sold with a model number of JD20336

==> No barcodes, APNs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Kitchen Appliances were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these kitchen products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, William Valentine has recalled certain batch/lots of Tetris Tetrimino Waffle Makers from the Australian marketplace due to reported failure to comply with Australia’s relevant electrical standard. Specifically, there is reportedly no insulation on the base of the Power Adapter Plug Contact Pins. As a direct result of this suspected defect, operators of this appliance may experience a wide variety of adverse consequences including burns, electric shock and even death.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Tetris Tetrimino Waffle Makers, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the Waffle Maker with its Power Adapter to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
