Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Cidrerie Milton, a Sainte-Cécile-de-Milton Quebec establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Réserve Festive Strong Cider from the Canadian marketplace due to reported bursting bottles and consequential risks of bacterial spoilage, laceration, concussion, bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury., all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Alcoholic Beverages are subject to this recall:

  • Réserve Festive Strong Cider, sold in 750 ml glass bottles with a batch/lot of L241023 or L251023 and a UPC of 8 41125 07557 9

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Alcoholic Beverages were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of Quebec, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Alcoholic Beverages identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Réserve Festive Strong Cider, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial contamination, laceration, concussion, bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury.
