Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Gentro Foods Inc., a Toronto, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Eagle branded Frozen Corn from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following frozen Vegetables are subject to this recall:

  • Eagle branded Frozen Corn, sold with 1.75 kilogram clear plastic bags with a best-before date of 02/01/2025 and a UPC of 0 55722 96964 7

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled frozen Vegetables can be found on the Web site above.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Eagle branded Frozen Corn products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of Ontario, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - Canadian Food Inspection Agency ("CFIA")According to the CFIA, Gentro Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of Eagle branded Frozen Corn from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection,. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled frozen Vegetables identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Eagle branded Frozen Corn products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonellosis.
