Food Recall: Quaker Granola Bars & Granola Cereals

US/Silver Spring: The Quaker Oats Company, a Chicago, Illinois establishment and subsidiary of PepsiCo of Purchase, New York, updates its earlier recall for certain batch/lots of various Quaker branded Granola Bars and Granola Cereals from the American marketplace to include additional products.

The original recall was initiated due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Quaker Granola Bars & Granola Cereals were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all US states as well as Puerto Rico, Guam and Saipan, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, The Quaker Oats Company has recalled certain batch/lots of various Quaker branded Granola Bars and Granola Cereals from the American marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination . As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Granola products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Quaker branded Granola Bars and Granola Cereals, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Confectionery Bars to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonellosis.
