UK FlagUK/London: Princes Group, a Liverpool, England establishment and subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan, recalls certain batch/lots of Asda, Branston, Sainsburys and Tesco branded Baked Beans and food products containing Baked Beans from the British marketplace due to reported rubber fragment contamination and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis, all serious and potential fatal situations, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Baked Beans are subject to recall:

  • Asda Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce, sold in 210 gram cans with a batch/lot code 3313 or 3314 and a best-before end date of November 2025
  • Asda Mixed Bean Salads, sold in 400 gram cans with a batch/lot code 3293 or 3303 and a best-before end date of October 2027
  • Branston Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce, sold in 4 by 410 gram cans Plastic Wrapped with a batch/lot code 3338 and a best-before end date of December 2025
  • By Sainsbury’s Baked Beans & Pork Sausages in Tomato Sauce, sold in 400 gram cans with a batch/lot code 3312 and a best-before end date of November 2025
  • Tesco Mixed Bean Salads in Vinaigrette, sold in 400 gram cans with a batch/lot code 3299 and a best-before end date of October 2025
  • Tesco Baked Beans & Pork Sausages in Tomato Sauce, sold in 395 gram cans with a batch/lot code 3312 and a best-before end date of November 2025

==> No barcodesLogo - Asda, EANs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Logo - UK Food Standards Agency ("FSA")According to the FSA, Princes Group has recalled certain batch/lots of Asda, Branston, Sainsbury’s and Tesco branded Baked Beans and products containing these Baked Beans from the British marketplace due to reported rubber fragment contamination . As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled processed Baked Beans identified above.

In general, if bone, glass, metal, plastic and/or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

In the case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that some products contain small rubber balls, making them unsafe to consume.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you belLogo - Morrisonsieve you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Asda, Branston, Sainsbury’s and/or Tesco branded Baked Beans and food products containing these Baked Beans, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Baked Bean products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis.
