Food Recall: Tesco Growers Harvest Garden Peas

UK/London: Tesco PLC (“Tesco”), a Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Growers Harvest Garden Peas from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared unidentified Berries, a possible allergens, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Vegetables are subject to recall:

• Growers Harvest Garden Peas, sold in 900 gram white plastic bags with the following best-before dates and batch/lot codes:
  • Best-before date of January 2025 with a batch/lot code of 23196, 23197, 23198, 23199 or 23200
  • Best-before date of February 2025 with a batch/lot code of 23237, 23238, 23239 or 23240
  • Best-before date of March 2025 with a batch/lot code of 23256, 23257, 23258, 23259, 23260 or 23261
  • Best-before date of April 2025 with a batch/lot code of 23275, 23276 or 23277

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the UK FSA, Tesco PLC has recalled certain batch/lots of Growers Harvest Garden Peas from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared unidentified Berries. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Vegetables identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Tesco Growers Harvest Garden Peas and could be allergic to their Berry ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
