US/Silver Spring: CF Dallas LLC, a Grand Prairie, Texas establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Freshness Guaranteed and RaceTrac branded fresh-cut products made from whole Cantaloupe from the American marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risks of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Cantaloupe & Fruit Mixes are subject to this recall:

• Freshness Guaranteed branded Seasonal Blends, sold in 10-ounce containers with an NCC/NCN designation of 0103 and a best-by date of 11/7/2023 or 11/10/2023 and a UPC of 6 81131 18048 1
• Freshness Guaranteed branded Seasonal Blends, sold in 16-ounce containers with an NCC/NCN designation of 0103 and a best-by date of 11/7/2023 or 11/10/2023 and a UPC of 6 81131 18049 8
• Freshness Guaranteed branded Seasonal Blends, sold in 42-ounce containers with an NCC/NCN designation of 0103 and a best-by date of 11/7/2023 or 11/10/2023 and a UPC of 1 94346 12155 7

• RaceTrac branded Fruit Medleys, sold in 6-ounce containers with an NCC/NCN designation of 0103 and a best-by date of 11/7/2023 or 11/8/2023 and a UPC of 0 74641 00248 8

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Freshness Guaranteed and RaceTrac branded fresh-cut products made from whole Cantaloupe were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, CF Dallas LLC has recalled certain batch/lots of Freshness Guaranteed and RaceTrac branded fresh-cut products made from whole Cantaloupe from the American marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination . As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Cantaloupe & Fruit Mixes identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after CF certain fresh-cut products made from whole Cantaloupe were subject to a previously announced product recall initiated by Sofia Produce, LLC, an establishment doing business as Trufresh due to potential Salmonella contamination.

All CF Dallas fresh-cut fruit products associated with the recalled whole Cantaloupe have expired, however if you have purchased these items and have frozen them for later use, you are urged not to consume them and to dispose of them immediately or return the items to their local store for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Trufresh’s investigation has revealed that the above-listed order numbers may have been associated with the cantaloupes sold to Fruits et Légumes Gaétan Bono.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Freshness Guaranteed and RaceTrac branded fresh-cut products made from whole Cantaloupe, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Fruit products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Salmonellosis.
