US FlagUS/Washington: Tyson Foods, Inc. a Berryville, Arkansas establishment, recalls an estimated 29,819 pounds of fully cooked, breaded, shaped Tyson Fully Cooked Fun Nuggets Breaded Shaped Chicken Patties from the American marketplace due to reported metal fragment contamination and consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Poultry products were thought to have been produced on or about September 5, 2023 and are subject to this recall:

  • Tyson Fully Cooked Fun Nuggets Breaded Shaped Chicken Patties, sold in 29-ounce plastic bags with a best-if-used-by date code of of SEP 04, 2024 and a batch/lot designation of 2483BRV0207, 2483BRV0208, 2483BRV0209 or 2483BRV0210.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Tyson Fully Cooked Fun Nuggets Breaded Shaped Chicken Patties were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the US states of Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - United States Department of Agriculture ("USDA") According to the USDA, Tyson Foods has recalled an estimated 29,819 pounds of fully cooked, breaded, shaped Tyson Fully Cooked Fun Nuggets Breaded Shaped Chicken Patties from the American marketplace due to reported metal fragment contamination. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Poultry products identified above.

In general, if glass, plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Tyson Fully Cooked Fun Nuggets Breaded Shaped Chicken Patties, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat choking, oral injury, internal ingestion, GI tract laceration damage, bowel obstruction/perforation and sepsis.
