Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Australian International Traders Pty Ltd., a Brookvale, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Novelty Lollipops from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory safety standard for products containing Button/Coin Batteries and consequential risks of choking, burns, oral injury, ingestion,  GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-changing injury.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Candy Confectionery/Toy Kits are subject to this recall:

  • Australian International Traders Novelty Lollipops, consisting of candy lollipops with a novelty Spinning Top toy with a barcode/APN of 6970756420916, a SKU designation of KT24 and a best-before date of 25 Nov 2025 (i.e., November 25, 2025)

==> No manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Novelty Lollipops were known to be marketed, distributed and sold from small independent supermarkets, retail shops and milk bars including IGA, Campbells Cash & Carry, Sweetcraft, The Lolly Bug shop and The Professors Shop in all Australian states, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

Logo - Australian Competition & Consumer Commission ("ACCC")According to the ACCC, Australian International Traders Pty Ltd. has recalled certain batch/lots of Novelty Lollipops from the Australian marketplace due to suspected failure to comply with requirements of Australia’s mandatory safety standard for products containing Button/Coin Batteries.

In this case, this recall was initiated for two (2) reasons:

  1. The Battery Compartment is not adequately secured so Button Batteries may become accessible.
  2. The product does not have the required warning symbols and information to warn parents and other caregivers about the dangers of Button/Coin Batteries.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Australian International Traders Novelty Lollipops, please do not use them. Instead, kindly Australian International Traders to arrange for a refund of the product.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly choking, burns, oral injury, ingestion,  GI tract laceration damage and bowel obstruction.
