Green Giant Original Sweetcorn Recall [UK]

UK/London: General Mills, an Uxbridge, Middlesex establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Canned Green Giant Original Sweetcorn from the British marketplace due to suspected faulty can seams and consequential risk of spoilage, bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Canned Sweetcorn products are subject to recall:

• Green Giant Original Sweetcorn, sold in 198 gram cans with a batch/lot codes of 293 1S1, 294 1S1 or 295 1S1 and a stated best-before date of July 2023

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the FSA, some Can seams may be faulty. If this defect occurs it could make this product unsafe to eat. Consequentially, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Canned Sweetcorn products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Canned Sweetcorn products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Sweetcorn to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisoning.
