Pasco branded Cooking Sauce Recall [UK]

UK/London: Pasco Foods Ltd, a Wigan, England establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Pasco branded Cooking Sauce products due to suspected risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Cooking Sauce are subject to recall:

• Pasco Punjabi Butter Chicken Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 917052 and a best-before date of July 2021
• Pasco Delhi Tikka Masala Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 919019 and a best-before date of September 2021
• Pasco Delhi Tikka Masala Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 917052 and a best-before date of July 2021
• Pasco Goanese Vindaloo Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 915092 and a best-before date of May 2021
• Pasco Navratan Korma Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 915003 and a best-before date of May 2021
• Pasco Mumbai Palak Masala Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 918050 and a best-before date of August 2021
• Pasco Rajastani Jalfrezi Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 915003 and a best-before date of May 2021
• Pasco Rogan Josh Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 915092 and a best-before date of May 2021
• Pasco Navratan Korma Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 918050 and a best-before date of August 2021
• Pasco Punjabi Butter Chicken Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 913021 and a best-before date of March 2021
• Pasco Kashmiri Rogan Josh Cooking Sauce, sold in 350 gram jars with a batch/lot code of 913021 and a best-before date of March 2021

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, manufacturing controls that could potentially adversely affect the safety of the Cooking Sauces listed above could not be demonstrated satisfactorily by the company. The issue relates to controlling factors to prevent the growth and toxin production of Clostridium Botulinum. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Cooking Sauces identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cooking Sauces, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the sauces to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisoning such as Botulism.
