Canada FlagCanada/Ottawa: Lian Teng Produces Inc., a Scarborough, Ontario establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Meta branded Enoki Mushrooms from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risks of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Enoki Mushroom are subject to this recall:

  • Meta branded Enoki Mushrooms, sold in 200 gram vacuum packages with an intem number of 695102, a batch/lot designation of TH2408 and a UPC of 6 957937 482116

These Enoki Mushroom were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian province of Ontario, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination.
