These Pop N’ Go Playpens may have been marketed, distributed and sold in all Canadian provinces, although it is always possible these Furniture products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.
According to Health Canada, Faint Orange Horizon has recalled an estimated 7,379 California Beach Co. Pop N’ Go Playpens from the Canadian marketplace due to flammability and entrapment hazards and consequential risks of burns, scalds, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure, cardiac system collapse and/or property damage as well as consequential risks of asphyxiation, lacerations, concussion, bone fracture and life-changing Central Nervous System (“CNS”) injuries.
Specifically, Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program has determined that these Children’s Playpens do not meet the requirements of Canada’s Playpens Regulations. In this case, the Top Accessory Shade Cover poses a flammability hazard while the Top Rails on the sides of the Playpen can allow a child’s head to pass through, posing an entrapment hazard.
For more information on playpens, please visit the Government of Canada’s webpage on Playpen safety, available here: https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/infant-care/playpens.html.
