Canada/Ottawa: Ocean Pier Inc., a Scoudouc, New Brunswick establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of M&M Food Market branded Cauliflower Gratin from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Mustard, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious health and safety hazard requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following prepared Cauliflower Meal products are subject to this recall:

  • M&M Food Market branded Cauliflower Gratin Meals, packages in 500 gram boxes with a batch/lot code of 3181 and a UPC of 6 61815 01851 4

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These M&M Food Market Cauliflower Gratin Meals were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Canadian provinces, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution outside the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, Ocean Pier has recalled certain batch/lots of M&M Food Market branded Cauliflower Gratin from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Mustard. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Cauliflower meals identified above.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled M&M Food Market branded Cauliflower Gratin and could be allergic to their Mustard ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled M&M Food Market branded Cauliflower Gratin, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
