Drug Recall: Green Elv Nutrition Elv Control Supplements

US/Silver Spring: World Green Nutrition, Inc., a San Antonio, Texas establishment, expands its previous recall for numerous batch/lots of Green Elv Nutrition Elv Control Herbal Supplements from the American marketplace to include additional batch/lots of the product.

The original recall was initiated due to suspected Yellow Oleander contamination with consequential risks of neurological, gastrointestinal, and cardiovascular damage, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Nutritional Supplements are subject to this recall:

• Green Elv Nutrition Elv Control Supplements, sold in net weight of 1.99-ounce (45 gram) white polyethylene plastic egg-shaped bottles consisting of 90 capsules with a blue polypropylene plastic bottom cap with batch/lot and date codes, as follows:
  • Batch/lot code of N1082701 with an expiry date code of 050328
  • Batch/lot code of GESPM240622 with an expiry date code of 071324
  • Batch/lot code of GESPM300622 with an expiry date code of 071324
  • Batch/lot code of GESPM050722 with an expiry date code  of 071324
  • Batch/lot code of 190620230009B with an expiry date code of 061928
  • Batch/lot code of 190620231573678B with an expiry date code of 062828
  • Batch/lot code of 280620231573678BA with an expiry date code of 062828

In addition, this expanded recall includes certain batch/lots of Mexican Tejocote Root Supplement Pieces (Raiz de Tejocote Mexicano Suplemento en Trozos), sold in white polyethylene containers with a green polypropylene lid, as follows:

==> No barcodes, UPCs, NDCs, DINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These Nutritional Supplements were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all US states, although it is always possible these drug products had wider distribution outside the country, especially over the Web. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the FDA, World Green Nutrition has recalled numerous batch/lots of Green Elv Nutrition Elv Control Supplements and Mexican Tejocote Root Supplement Pieces from the American marketplace due to suspected Yellow Oleander contamination. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled drug products identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after the US Food and Drug Administration updated its formal Safety Alert with the title “FDA Issues Warning About Certain Supplements Substituted with Toxic Yellow Oleander (January 2024)”.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Green Elv Nutrition Elv Control Supplements, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the drugs to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Yellow Oleander poisoning.
