Food Recall: Tropical Sun Semolina Fine & Coarse

UK/London: Wanis International Foods, a Leyton, London establishment, expands its existing recall for certain batch/lots of Tropical Sun Semolina Fine from the British marketplace to include an additional, but closely related food product, specifically Tropical Sun Semolina Coarse.

The original recall was initiated due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Wheat (Gluten), both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Grain products are subject to recall:

• Tropical Sun Semolina Fine, sold in 1.5 kilogram packages with a batch/lot code of WAN1597, WAN1621, WAN1517, WAN1319, WAN1282, WAN1239, WAN1187, WAN1125, WAN1018 ,WAN0957, WAN0799, WAN0784, WAN0745 or WAN0661 with a best-before date of April 2026, March 2026, January 202,6 January 2026, December 2025, November 2025, September 2025, July 2025 or May 2025
• Tropical Sun Semolina Fine, sold in 5 kilogram packages with a batch/lot code of WAN1620, WAN1516, WAN1321, WAN1240, WAN1280, WAN1188, WAN1124, WAN0800,WAN0743 or WAN0663 with a best-before date of April 2026, March 2026, January 2026, January 2026, January 2026, November 2025, November 2025, July 2025, June 2025 or May 2025

According to the FSA, Wanis International Foods has expanded its existing recall for certain batch/lots of Tropical Sun Semolina Fine from the British marketplace to include an additional food product, specifically Tropical Sun Semolina Coarse. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Processed Grain products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Tropical Sun Semolina Fine products and could be allergic to their Wheat or Gluten ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
