Product Recall: Morphy Richards Pizza Makers

Australia/Canberra: Glen Dimplex Australia Pty Ltd., a Scoresby, Victoria establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Morphy Richards Pizza Makers from the Australian marketplace due to suspected incorrect sealant and consequential risks of electrical short circuit, fire, burns, scalds, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following kitchen appliances are subject to this recall:

• Morphy Richards Pizza Makers, sold with an electrical approval number of SGS-230852-EA, a SKU of MRPM1BK and a barcode number of 9420033226634

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These pizza oven appliances were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in all Australian states, although it is always possible these kitchen appliances had wider distribution outside the country including over the Web. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the ACCC, Glen Dimplex Australia Pty. has recalled certain batch/lots of Morphy Richards Pizza Makers from the Australian marketplace due to suspected incorrect sealant. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should not use the recalled appliances identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that the affected Pizza Makers may have accessible live parts. Due to these defects, there is a risk of serious injury or death from an electric shock to people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Morphy Richards Pizza Makers, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat fire, burns, scalds, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse.
