US FlagUS/Bethesda: Southern Telecom Inc., a New York, New York establishment, recalls an estimated 19,500 Southern Telecom Recalls Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kits from the American marketplace due to suspected overheating and electric short circuit hazards and consequential risks of burns, scalds, smoke inhalation, respiratory failure and/or cardiac system collapse, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves the Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kits with Wax Cartridge and Wax Strips marketed, sold and delivered in the United States, as follows:

  • Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kits with Wax Cartridge & Wax Strips, sold with a model number of LOMB2003PK. The recalled Boxed Kits include a Handheld Wax Warmer, a Wax Cartridge, Wax Strips, a Power Cord, and a User’s Manual. The Lomi logo can be found printed on the front of the white and pink Warmer, and on the outside of the product packaging while the Lomi logo and model number can be found on the bottom of the Wax Warmer.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Logo - US Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC")According to the CPSC, Southern Telecom Inc., has recalled an estimated 19,500 Southern Telecom Recalls Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kits from the American marketplace due to suspected overheating and electric short circuit hazards.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that the Roll-on Warmer’s Power Cord can overheat and short circuit, posing fire, burn, and electrical shock hazards to people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

At press time, Southern Telecom has received two (2) reports of the Warmer’s Power Cord overheating and/or short-circuiting, including two (2)0 product users who suffered burns and one (1) incident of property damage.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kits with Wax Cartridge & Wax Strips, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Southern Telecom for a full refund. Consumers will be asked to write “Recalled” with a permanent marker on the Wax Warmer, unplug the Warmer, cut the unplugged Power Cord, and submit a photo to Southern Telecom

Warning: Unplug the Lomi Roll-On Waxing Kits before cutting the electrical cord. Failure to unplug the unit while it is electrically live could result in shock, electrocution, burns and/or death.
