Among the eighty (80) recalls the European Union announced in its third report of March 2024, the following recall notification was made:

Chloé LOVE Perfume products, sold with a batch/lot of GO 0449321934 and an EAN/barcode of 3607340205699. This recall notification was submitted by Czechia (formally, the Czech Republic) to the EU Gateway under alert number A12/00701/24.

These Chloé LOVE Perfume products were marketed, sold and delivered as personal-use perfume products intended for home application. The recalled Perfume products were reportedly produced in the France, are counterfeit and packaged in 75 ml pink rectangular glass bottles with a sprayer top and a gold colored cap attached with a gold chain and sold in beige cardboard boxes.

No manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The hazards identified in the Chloé LOVE Perfume products include the reported finding that the recalled fragrances contain 2-(4-tert- butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (“BMHCA”), a chemical that is forbidden in Cosmetic Products within the European Marketplace.

According to the European Union, the chemical 2-(4-tert- butylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (“BMHCA”) poses risks of harm to the reproductive system and the health of the unborn child as well as causing skin sensitisation when used in a reasonable manner expected and consistent with their intended design and anticipated use and therefore, could precipitate serious injury and/or life-changing health consequences.

Proposed Remedy:
Due to these defects, the recalled Chloé LOVE Perfume products, reportedly do not comply with the requirements of Europe’s Cosmetic Products Regulation.

Consequently, a ban on the marketing and/or sales of this product and a withdrawal recall has been ordered in all European member countries. If encountered, you should not use, market, sell or use the recalled cosmetics.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chloé LOVE Perfume products, please do not use them nor let your child play with or near them. Instead, kindly contact the store from which you purchased the product for a refund.

If you have a medical emergency, please contact 1-1-2, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat reproductive and/or developmental system damage.

Please note: 1-1-2 (also written as “112”) is the universal European emergency number you can dial free of charge from fixed and mobile phones anywhere in the EU. It will connect you to the local emergency services including police, ambulance, fire brigade. National emergency numbers are still in use too, alongside 1-1-2. but 1-1-2 is the only number you can use to access the emergency services in all EU countries.
