Vehicle Recall: Ford E350 & E450 Commercial Trucks

Canada/Ottawa: Transport Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety authority, recalls an estimated 3,864 model year 2021 and 2022 Ford E350 and E450 Commercial Trucks as well as Ford E350 and E450 Cutaway Chassis Vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in Canada.

On the affected Ford Commercial Trucks and Chassis, the Power Steering Pressure Line may not be properly connected to the Brake Booster.

As a result, Power Steering fluid could leak and cause a loss of Power Steering and Power Brake Assist. If this defect occurs, a loss of Power Brakes can cause a potential sudden increase in Brake Pedal force and lead to an increase in stopping distance. In addition, a loss of Power Steering Assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low speeds. Either of these reported defects could increase the risk of a crash, motor vehicle collision (“MVC”) or other impact events with consequential serious injury and/or life-changing results.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat lacerations, concussions, bone fractures, amputation, central nervous system (“CNS”) damage and/or internal injuries.

==> No VINs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Proposed Remedy:
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to an Authorized Dealer to inspect the connection between the Power Steering Pressure Line and the Hydroboost Unit. The Power Steering Line will be replaced if the connection is not secure.

Please note:: this recall only affects certain E-series incomplete vehicles equipped with Dual Rear Wheels
