Food Recall: OGGI Americana Pizza

Canada/Ottawa: OGGI Foods Inc., a Montreal, Quebec establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of OGGI branded Americana Pizza made with Beyond Meat from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risks of undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious health and safety hazard requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Pizza products are subject to this recall:

• OGGI Americana Pizza, sold in 390 gram packages, a batch/lot of 23 200, a best-by date code of 2024 JL 19 (i.e., July 19, 2024) and a UPC of 6 28451 68477 0

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

These OGGI Americana Pizza products were known to be marketed, distributed and sold in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Nova Scotia and Ontario, although it is always possible these food products had wider distribution within the country. When in doubt, please contact the manufacturer for specific product information.

According to the CFIA, OGGI Foods Inc. has recalled certain batch/lots of OGGI branded Americana Pizza made with Beyond Meat from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risks of undeclared Milk. As a result of this reported defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Pizza products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled OGGI branded Americana Pizza products and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
