UK FlagUK/London: Lidl Great Britain Limited (“Lidl GB”), a London, England establishment and subsidiary of Lidl of Stiftung & Co KG of Neckarsulm, Baden-Wüttenberg, Germany, recalls all current batch/lots of Duc De Coeur branded Salted Caramel & Chocolate Tartlets due to suspected incomplete and/or incorrect labeling and consequential improperly declared Soya (Soy), a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to recall:

  • Duc De Coeur branded Salted Caramel & Chocolate Tartlets, sold in 125 gram packages

==> No barcodes, EANs, item numbers, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Logo - UK Food Standards Agency ("FSA")According to the UK FSA, Lidl GB has recalled all current batch/lots of Duc De Coeur branded Salted Caramel & Chocolate Tartlets due to suspected incomplete and/or incorrect labeling and consequential improperly declared Soy. As a direct result of this suspected defect, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled prepared Baked Goods identified above.

In this case, this recall was initiated after it was reported that the Salted Caramel & Chocolate Tartlets contain Soya, an ingredient that has not been emphasised in bold in the product’s ingredients list. Due to this defect, the UK FSA considers these Baked Goods a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to Soya.

This recall is currently limited to England, Scotland and Wales.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Duc De Coeur branded Salted Caramel & Chocolate Tartlets and could be allergic to their Soya ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
