Among the forty (40) recalls the European Union announced in its fourth (and final) report of January 2024, the following recall notification was made:

Little President branded Glow In The Dark Acrylic Colours Paint Sets, sold with a batch/lot designation of 9178 and an EAN/barcode of 0523991000038. This recall notification was submitted by Cyprus to the EU Gateway under alert number A12/00129/24.

These Little President branded Glow In The Dark Acrylic Colours Paint Sets were marketed, sold and delivered as children’s Paint Sets for home use. The recalled Paints were reportedly produced in People’s Republic of China and packaged in black display boxes of twelve (12) tubes of 12 ml acrylic pains in a variety of color/shades.

No manufacturing date codes, batch/lot designation, production dates, expiry dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

The hazards identified in the Little President branded Glow In The Dark Acrylic Colours Paint Sets include the reported finding that migration of the element Strontium from the Children Toy Paint exceeds European standards(measured value: up to 6000mg/kilogram).

According to the European Union ingestion of, or contact with an excessive quantity of Strontium may harm the health of children by irritating the skin and/or affecting the normal development of the skeleton when used in a reasonable manner expected and consistent with their intended design and anticipated use and therefore, could precipitate serious injury and/or life-changing health consequences.

Proposed Remedy:
Due to these defects, the recalled Little President branded Glow In The Dark Acrylic Colours Paint Sets reportedly do not comply with the requirements of Europe’s Toy Safety Directive nor with European standard EN 71-3.

Consequently, a ban on the marketing and/or sales of this product and a withdrawal recall has been ordered in all European member countries. If encountered, you should not use, market, sell or use the recalled children’s paint products.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Little President branded Glow In The Dark Acrylic Colours Paint products, please do not use them nor let your child play with or near them. Instead, kindly contact the store from which you purchased the product for a refund.
