Product Recall: Lancaster Table & Seating Allegro Chairs

US/Washington: Clark Core Services LLC, doing business as Clark Associates, a Lancaster, Pennsylvania establishment, recalls an estimated 53,800 Lancaster Table & Seating branded Allegro Plastic Side Chairs from the American marketplace due to suspected in-use structural failure and consequential risks of falls, laceration, traumatic brain injury (“TBI” or “concussion”), bone fractures and/or central nervous system (“CNS”) injury, all serious health and safety hazards requiring immediate medical intervention to minimize pain and suffering as well as prevent life-altering injury or death.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Lancaster Table & Seating branded Allegro Plastic Side Chairs for outdoor use marketed, sold and delivered in the United States, as follows:

The recalled Allegro Plastic Side Chairs were sold in fourteen (14) different colors. The brand, Lancaster Table & Seating, can be seen stamped on the underside of each Chairs. The Chairs were reportedly sold in assembled form, made from glass reinforced polypropylene plastic, and measure approximately 17 inches wide by approximately 33 inches in height.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers, manufacturing date codes, production dates, regulatory approval designations, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the Plastic Chairs can break apart while in use, posing a fall hazard with risks to the health and/or safety of people who utilize the product in a reasonable manner expected with its intended design and anticipated use.

In this case, this recall was initiated after the firm received sixteen (16) reports of the Allegro Plastic Side Chairs breaking apart while in use, resulting in two (2) injuries.

Proposed Remedy:
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Allegro Plastic Side Chairs, please do not use them. Instead, kindly should immediately stop using the Allegro plastic side chairs and contact Clark Associates for a full refund or a store credit. Owners should submit a photograph to Clark online at http://www.lancastertableandseating.com/recalls/allegro-side-chair-recall/ displaying “DO NOT USE” in paint or thick permanent marker in a clear visible location on the chairs, and dispose of the product(s). Clark Associates is contacting all known purchasers directly.
